Ingredients
3/4 cup peach preserves (Bonne Maman brand is best.)
1/3 cup sour mash bourbon
1/3 cup red raspberry vinegar (Kozlowski Farms brand is best.)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salt
Pepper
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Season ribs with salt and pepper. Enclose them in heavy-duty aluminum foil, and put them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake baby back ribs 1¼ hours and regular ribs 1½ hours. Ribs should be tender when pierced with a fork. Drain grease and dispose of it in a jar or can.
In a small saucepan, combine all the sauce ingredients. Simmer over medium-low heat, stirring often until slightly thickened. This will take at least ten minutes. Brush on one side of the previously cooked ribs, and broil for about five minutes. Flip ribs, brush on more sauce, and broil for five more minutes. Serve the ribs with the rest of the sauce on the side.
Notes from Mom
Here is the recipe you requested. It doesn’t make sense to spend money for a bottle of bourbon and the expensive spices and fruit vinegar since you would use so little before you come home. Just cook the ribs you bought and then put barbecue sauce on at the end.
